Because costs matter
Costs matter. The less you pay in costs the more you maximise your investment pot. Over a lifetime of investing the total cost of fees can eat away at a significant chunk of savings. The difference between a 1% fee and a 2% fee over the lifetime of a typical pension investment is a startling 25% of end-fund value.
We believe that our clients should know all the costs of investing. In our industry, confusing fee structures are typically designed that way, with jargon and small print used to mask steep investment costs and hidden charges.
At Calm Financial Care our fees are fair and transparent. Our fee schedule is:
Calm Financial Care Advisory Fee 0.80%*
Global Custody 0.25%*
Global Custody and Trustee Services 0.40% – 0.50%*
* No VAT is payable on these fees

Our investment philosophy

To achieve our clients’ investment goals we use the traditional asset classes of equities (shares), fixed income (bonds), cash and commodities.
Our assessment of the return and risk profile within each of these asset classes is always the same irrespective of the client involved. As your Financial Advisor we will combine our assessment of the valuation and reward potential in these asset classes with your investment objectives to construct a portfolio for you. If there is a change in your personal circumstances and/or your investment objectives this may require a change in the composition of your portfolio. Similarly if there is a change in our assessment of asset valuations this may require a change in the composition of your portfolio to meet your investment objectives.
We monitor your portfolio against the overall economic and market environment. We describe this approach as Valuation Based Active Asset Allocation. We do not believe in rigid buy and hold models. Equity exposure is achieved through holding a diversified portfolio of premium equities that demonstrate an ability to pay sustainable dividends into the future – or where appropriate through index funds called Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). Fixed Income and Commodity exposure is also achieved through investment in ETFs which are cost efficient. Portfolio turnover is kept to a minimum and transactions are executed in a low cost and efficient manner.
Because we keep your money safe and secure
Calm Financial Care does not hold client assets. All client assets are held in their own name by Pershing Securities International Limited (“Pershing”). Pershing is a subsidiary of the Bank of New York Mellon Corporation and is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. We have chosen Pershing because of the range of markets it can facilitate transactions in and because of the strength of its business offering in Ireland and the UK. In 2014 Pershing was named in the European Wealth Briefing awards as the best Global Custodian for excellence in cost, efficiency and flexibility as well as for providing exceptional stability as a custodian of assets.
